Introducing Mailmeteor BounceShield: Say GoodBye To Bounces

- Published: - 7 minutes read

Are you tired of bounces ruining your email campaigns? You’re not alone. Today, we are adding one more feature in Mailmeteor to help you send successful mass email campaigns. Meet Mailmeteor BounceShield.

Sending emails at scale is a challenging task. There are numerous factors to consider. From tidying up your contact list to selecting the appropriate subject line and timing. There are just so many things to keep in mind.

But there’s good news. Today, you’ll say goodbye to bounces once and for all.

What’s the issue with bounces?

First, let me explain what a bounce is. When you send out emails, it’s possible that the recipient’s email address is invalid, which means that the message will be returned to you just like a postcard that gets sent back to the sender by the postman with a message that there is nobody at the address. There are many reasons for that: it could be a small typo, the recipient’s inbox is full, he/she has left the company or other similar reasons.

Bounces are bad for email marketers. They dramatically affect your emailing reputability as you’re sending to a dead end. Also, within Gmail, each bounce decreases your Gmail quota. That’s why we have always recommended senders to clean up their contact lists before sending campaigns.

However, we are aware that this verification process is typically done manually and is quite costly. To address this issue, we formed partnerships with the most effective email verification platforms last year, providing our customers with discounted rates.

Despite this effort, it’s still relatively costly and hard to clean your contacts list. For example, validating all email addresses for a campaign consisting of 10,000 emails would cost around $50 and about 10 minutes of your time.

Free and unlimited email validation

Starting from today, all our Pro and Business customers are automatically protected with Mailmeteor BounceShield. The BounceShield is a fully automated service that verifies email addresses in your campaigns and detects potential bounces before sending any emails.

With the integration of our bounce shield, you can expect a significant reduction in bounces, and save a substantial amount of money that would have otherwise been spent on email verification services.

To put things in perspective, here’s a calculator to estimate how much you can save compared to common email verification tools pricing:

From small to very large senders, Mailmeteor BounceShield will save you a lot while maximizing your deliverability.

And it doesn’t count the time you’ll save, as our BounceShield is automatically checking your email campaigns, without any extra effort on your part.

How does BounceShield work?

About a year ago, we introduced a free email verification tool. Email Checker detects when an email address isn’t valid by checking for typos and technical configurations (such DNS, MX and SMTP records).

It gained tremendous usage and gave us great feedback to understand how to scale an email verification service (like you could use at NeverBounce or Bouncer).

Mailmeteor BounceShield is the logical next step. By integrating our email checker directly into Mailmeteor, we automatically clean your contacts list so you don’t have to. This way you receive less bounces and preserve your email reputation.

When an email is detected as invalid, the email will be marked as failed in the Dashboard:

Our BounceShield verifies your contact list in real time, and works in the background as fast as possible. So you can enjoy seamless and effortless email protection that helps you grow your business, while we take care of the rest.

What’s next?

If you’re on the Pro or Business plan, Mailmeteor BounceShield is already activated on your account, and there is no need for you to manually enable it. If you aren’t on these plans, look at our pricing options.

We’re really excited to release this new feature today. To our knowledge, Mailmeteor is the first email marketing platform to include an unlimited email verification service at no extra cost.

So, we really hope that you’ll enjoy it. As always if you have feedback or want us to implement another feature, feel free to reach out by filling out this form.
